Oil in Croatia
Oil Production: 13.49 thousand barrels per day (2011)
Oil Consumption: 113.00 thousand barrels per day (2011)
After looking at the consumption and production of oil in Croatia I see that they have never produced as much oil as they have consumed. They have always had to import oil to make-up for this. It was interesting to see that every year the production of their oil decreased while their consumption increased. In 1992 they produced a little over half of the oil that they used and of 2011 they don't even produce 20% of the oil that they need. This give me the idea that there has been more automobiles being used and a greater population, showing that Croatia is growing and using its resources. It also tells me that because oil is not a big resource for Croatia, they must have other useful resources in order to trade and use economically.

Croatian Economy
The Croatian economy is service based so it is a market economy. Much of the economy is based around the services including in tourism. Croatia has done very well with tourists in the passed few years and much of their services focus around tourism. There is somome agriculture but there is more ship building areas and industries. It is also interesting to note that Croatia just joined the Euorpean Union and it is only a short period of time until it will be forced to switch over to the Euro. Although Croatia had a slow time catching up to the economy that other European countries had, it was still a better country than many other European countries when looking at the income per capita. Therefore, Croatia is doing well when compared tp European countries but its unemployment rate is the third to the highest amount.
Economic Factors---
Unemployment rate: 20.5% (2013 est.)Obesity Rates: 24.2% (2008) 66 in the US
Fertility Rates: 1.45 children born/woman (2014 est)
Labor Force Occupations:
Agriculture- 2.1%
Industry- 29%
Services- 69% (2012)
Looking that these three different statistics you can see that Croatia has a high unemplyment rate, it is almost equal between males and females showing that women are growing in there equality in this country. The obesity is also pretty high and the number of children per every woman is pretty low. Youcan also see that through offering services is where Croatia makes most of its money. With all of this being said it would seem that Croatia is a country that relies on tourism and that many peopl seek jobs in tourist fields. However, it must be difficult to find some of these jojbs and keep them and I'm sure that many Croatians know more than one language in hoping to find one of these jobs.
The GDP of Croatia is $17,800. This puts them at 78 in the world.
